As a part of the Deadly Sista Girlz program, our year 12 students at St Mary’s College in Broome held a fundraiser to help raise money for their end of year camp.
The girls spent time in their DSG session making cupcakes to sell at the Broome Markets; they were even helped by the year 9 and 10 girls who gave up their lunch break to help with icing.
Funds were also raised by raffling off an amazing piece of local Indigenous artwork and a West Coast Eagles Jumper.
Our Deadly Sista Girlz program aims to build proud Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls that thrive in the Third Space. It is delivered by strong Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander role models and mentors who offer a stable environment and work to empower and enable young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls to make informed decisions about their personal health and wellbeing, to lead a positive and healthy lifestyle.
Our Broome site is made possible by the incredible support the Foundation receives from Shell Australia.
