As part of our Local Jobs Local People program, two exciting projects kicked off this month, the Construction Environmental Pathways (CEP) Project in Kalgoorlie and the Local Jobs Construction Project in Bunbury.
Participants in the Kalgoorlie CEP Project have commenced their two-week training block with Civil Safety, working towards completing a Certificate I in Conservation and Ecosystem Management. They will then undertake one week of work experience with a range of employers across the Kalgoorlie-Boulder region, providing opportunities to observe, learn from industry professionals, and build connections that may lead to future employment.
Participants in the Bunbury Local Jobs Construction Project have also begun their training journey, gaining practical skills, industry knowledge, and valuable experience to support their transition into the workforce.
Both projects provide young First Nations people with opportunities to gain qualifications, develop job-ready skills, and connect with local employers, helping to create pathways into meaningful employment while addressing local workforce needs.
Supported by the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations, the Local Jobs Program delivers activities that address local employment needs by helping people access training, connect with employers, and create pathways to sustainable employment. The program supports individuals who are unemployed or underemployed and seeking assistance to enter or re-enter the workforce.
