Our Waalitj Hub Business Builder event series is providing specialist support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses throughout the state.
Recently we had our 13th Regional Business Builder event this year in Kwinana, supported by Alcoa Foundation.
Indigenous businesses and Industry leaders gathered to explore potential partnerships and procurement opportunities. Attendees spent the session listening, sharing and building connections.
The session started with an insightful welcome to country by Kerry-Anne Winmar followed by an around the room introduction from each attendee and later moved onto presentations.
Attendees heard presentations from Alcoa, Westport, AusIndustry, Department of Transport and Major Infostructure learning more about upcoming opportunities in the area and how to navigate their tender processes.
Building connections across sectors and communities is key to strengthen and grow a strong, sustainable and competitive Indigenous Industry sector.
Waalitj Hub Client Engagement Manager Jaime said “The Kwinana Business Builder has been a game-changer, empowering local businesses with the tools, confidence, and connections to thrive.”
At the Waalitj Hub we connect clients to our growing network of professional consultants and Industry Leaders. By linking business owners to these business support services and Industry leaders we create opportunities for strategic partnerships and knowledge sharing so businesses can grow in achieving their ambitions.
Our network of business support services come from both mainstream and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander-specific industry backgrounds.
We provide links to industry workshops and events. Through our Business Builders, we offer private sector referrals, access to industry expertise, and opportunities for exposure to new markets and business ideas.
The Waalitj Hub supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people wanting to start, grow or sustain their businesses through a combination of in-house business coaching and access to professional support and is supported by the National Indigenous Australians Agency and Corporate partners.
