Congratulations to our Waalitj Hub client, Devina McPherson, on being selected for the Global Producers Exchange! Devina, a proud Widi Yamatji woman and her business partner Jodie Bell, proud Butchella and Jagera woman, collaborated to create Ramu Productions. Based in Broome Western Australia, Ramu Productions specialises in First Nations culture, demonstrated through story telling. Ramu has successfully produced numerous award-winning documentaries and short films. Together they are determined to focus on creating authentic content through cultural lens.
This year Devina and Jodie were selected for Australians in Film and Screen Australia Global Producers Exchange, which aims to promote Australian producer’s international capacities by facilitating international collaborations, offering insights with a global perspective.
Devina was the only producer from Western Australia to be recognised across both initiatives. Devina discussed how she is honoured to be chosen.
“I’m so excited and honoured to be chosen alongside my fellow Producer and CEO of Ramu productions Jodie Bell, to be one of the successful recipients of this year’s Australians in Film and Screen Australia’s Global Producers Exchange program for 2025.
“To be amongst such talented creatives in this year’s cohort is truly a privilege and I’m looking forward to the mentorship, collaboration and the development on my skillset throughout the program.”
Waalitj Hub coach Jaime Silva said this is a significant achievement for Devina and Ramu Productions
“Navigating the Film and Television industry is incredibly challenging, yet Devina has made a significant impact through her contributions to culture and her ongoing work with First Nations creatives.
“Waalitj Foundation is excited for Devina to discover new pathways to tell stories that are important to Western Australia.”
