12 of our Deadly Sista Girlz schools came together from all over Perth and WA to compete in our Annual DSG Netball Carnival.
The DSG tournament brought together 13 standout teams. Schools represented included St Brigid’s College, Fremantle College, Armadale Senior High School, Yule Brook College, Governor Stirling Senior High School, Southern River College, Halls Head College, St Mary’s College, Thornlie Senior High School, Northam Senior High School, Champion Bay Senior High School, and Darling Range Sports College, who brought two teams to the competition.
Each team competed in five hard fought rounds. They played with clear determination to win, while also competing respectfully and demonstrating strong sportsmanship throughout the games.
After a brief break for lunch, the top six teams played off in the finals to decide their position on the ladder. Even after the five previous rounds and the heat of the day, teams still brought their A-game for the finals, with family and friends watching from the sidelines.
On court 1 we had the grand final, Darling Range Sports College facing St Marys College. It was a tightly contested match, but in the end Darling Range Sports College come out on top!
Congratulations to Darling Range Sports College for taking home the cup this year and well done to all teams who attended!
Thank you to all staff who assisted, our volunteers from Tronox and ARC Infrastructure and Darling Range Sports College students who umpired games throughout the day.
Our DSG program holds engagement events, like the Netball Carnival, across the year for students to build connections across our schools.
