Yule Brook Deadly Sista Girl, Imogen, has been accepted into the BINAR’s Girls International Basketball Squad for under 16s. She will be competing in the 2025 Asia Pacific Cup in Singapore later this year. Due to Imogen’s community involvement, she was able to receive several sponsors for her upcoming overseas tournament. This opportunity will provide an exciting milestone, as it will be Imogen’s first time flying over seas.
Ever since Imogen was 6 years old, the BINAR program has been supporting her to build fundamental skills, improve her abilities, build confidence and develop a passion and drive for basketball.
The Deadly Sista Girlz program has encouraged Imogen to take her passion and create something spectacular with her talents. Speaking on the support she has received through the program, Imogen said,
“Deadly Sista Girlz has helped me stay strong in my schooling and always reminded me to believe in myself. They’ve supported me every step of the way in chasing my dream to play basketball, especially with this amazing opportunity to go to Singapore with BINAR. Being selected means so much to me – I feel proud, excited and really grateful for everyone who’s backed me. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and I’m ready to represent my mob and give it my all”
Imogen’s DSG mentors are extremely proud of her achievements and are excited for her overseas endeavours.
“It has been a pleasure working with Imogen. She is such an outgoing, respectful and natural leader that keeps the other girls on track. I am so excited to see the doors that open for Imogen, she has a bright future ahead of her. And I wish the BINAR Basketball team the best of luck representing Noongars in Singapore.” Said by her mentor Rebekah.
The DSG program is so excited to see Imogen flourish in her talents, and we wish her the best of luck in Singapore!
