Recently our Onslow Family Support program hosted a Pop-Up Barber and Make Up Studio!
Upstairs at the Onslow Beach Resort was transformed into a Barber Shop and Make Up Studio leading into the Onslow School Ball with Barbers of Karratha and ECHO+IMPACT.
A magical day of special treatments for our community, with participants enjoying make up workshops, flash new haircuts, hairstyling and more in an afterschool session for all Onslow children, young people, and their families.
With three different groups of makeup workshop sessions, everyone had a great time learning various makeup techniques for the school ball. Some were even selected to have their makeup professionally done for the evening. We were able to create a special session for our older teens to enjoy, with private workshops and haircuts.

The Onslow family support program encourages connection, confidence and community. By hosting events like these, our young people and families are exposed to the professional and creative workshop opportunities that build self-esteem, nurture growth and strengthen belonging.
Supported by Woodside Energy, Mineral Resources and the National Indigenous Australians Agency, the Onslow Family Support Program is aimed at Aboriginal families in Onslow and the Bindi Bindi community with the primary focus of improving school attendance and capacity in parents and caregivers.
