A generous act in community has made a big difference to a local family, thanks to the collaboration of a few tradies joining together.
When a family found themselves caring for multiple young grandchildren, a safety concern emerged. Their home had an unfenced swimming pool, posing a real risk to the children. While the grandparents understood the importance of installing a pool fence, they unfortunately weren’t in a position to make it happen.
The grandmother was so worried, she would wake up in the middle of the night and check that everyone was in bed safely.
After hearing their story, our Waalitj Hub client Joel, owner of Bidi Facility Services, stepped in and connected with Bithuwarndu Fence Works to assist in finding a solution.
Through the generosity of these businesses a brand new fence was installed around the pool, free of charge.This project was driven by a shared desire to care for community and to keep children safe.
The impact of the donation was felt deeply by the family. Recently, the grandparents attended our Black Coffee event, where they shared their story. They spoke about the relief and peace of mind the fence has brought, and publicly thanked Joel and everyone involved for their kindness and hard work.
This act of generosity is a powerful reminder that when community members come together, even small actions can make a big difference. Creating safer homes, stronger families, and a more connected community for everyone.
