Read about the support we receive from our partnership with The Alcoa Foundation
Our Waalitj Hub is here to assist the Indigenous business sector thrive in WA. We provide support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people wanting to start, grow or sustain their businesses.

Business Development & Operations Planner at Triodia, Scott Harrison, spoke about his experience with the Hub and why he would recommend it for Aboriginal businesses, Coming on board with Waalitj is definitely an advantageous thing for a company… to have advice given to them for new ventures, new startups, or even reaching out to new clients, Waalitj is definitely there for support.”

With 552 business clients supported through the Waalitj Hub, we provide a culturally safe place to connect with expert advice, grow business capability and access new markets in the Peel and Upper Southwest regions with the help of our partnership with the Alcoa Foundation.

Jaime Silva one of our Business coaches spoke on the support from the Alcoa Foundation and the impact it has had on our Hub clients, “We’re very grateful for Alcoa’s involvement and their presence with our clients in the Peel and Upper South West area, the opportunities they have given our clients is essential and amazing.”

With the support of the Alcoa Foundation we host Business Builders across the Peel and Upper South West regions throughout. These events are a platform for Indigenous entrepreneurs to network, meet procurers and explore new business opportunities by providing a direct link to industry and corporate leaders. They are essential in
empowering and supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to step into business.
Managing Director at Triodia, Terry Gordan, speaks about the importance of the Waalitj Hub Business Builders “It’s important because it brings Aboriginal businesses to tier one companies and introduces other Aboriginal Businesses that are starting out. You get to know other businesses out there, that we could team up with.”

“A typical Business Builder event is a good business development tool to reach out to other companies ….Having Alcoa at the Business Builders has definitely been added value, not only for networking with other companies, but Alcoa’s provided support for procurement, showing us how to get on board and also just to find alliances with other companies similar to us” said Scott Harrison
