Our team and participants in Leonora recently took part in a Yarn and Learn session delivered by the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC), strengthening their knowledge and understanding of our electoral system and the importance of voter participation.
The session provided practical information that will help attendees enrol to vote, update their enrolment details and better understand the role voting plays in shaping the future of their communities. By building this knowledge within our local team, we can continue to provide support and access to information that empowers people to make informed choices.
Voting provides an opportunity for individuals to have a say on issues that affect their lives, families and communities, and to help choose representatives who will advocate for their interests in Parliament.
We are proud to be working alongside the Australian Electoral Commission to support increased First Nations enrolment and participation in the electoral process. Through this partnership, we can also help connect community members with temporary employment opportunities available during election periods, creating pathways to valuable work experience and income.
Are you enrolled to vote?
If you’re eligible to vote, now is a great time to check that your enrolment details are up to date.
